4、
There's outrage from Resident Evil fans this week as Nintendo announces the price of upcoming Switch ports, and delight from Pokemon fans as Sword and Shield is revealed to be... another Pokemon game.

Meanwhile on mobile Nintendo's exclusive touchscreen RPG Dragalia Lost finally hits the UK app stores, along with creature battler Skylanders: Ring of Heroes.

Also, Ape Out is, well, out on Switch, and Ric loves it.
Download episode 477:
(right click to save-as, left click to play)

It's that time of the day - time for us to reveal which of the thousands upon thousands of games available on mobile is today's recipient of our game of the day award. We've played it, we love it, and we hope you will too.

Gamer's of a certain age are definitely going to get a little misty eyed over today's selection - AG Drive - for reasons we'll spell out in a minute. What do you think of the game though? Is it a worthy winner of this treasured accolade or is there another, more deserving game we should have picked? Do let us know in the comments section at the bottom of the article.

And while you're doing stuff, click here to bookmark our game of the week hub - that way you'll be the first to find out whenever we reveal a new game of the day.AG Drive

Wipeout defined the PlayStation generation for a lot of people - it was grown up gaming, cool and futuristic and unlike anything we'd seen before. Which is why AG Drive holds a special place in our hearts here at Pocket Gamer - it's like Wipeout in the palm of your hand.

-
We were originally told by Oddworld Inhabitants to expect Oddworld New 'n' Tasty - the remake of the first game in the series - in the spring of this year.

We're approaching winter now and the game still isn't out. So what's up?

The developer took to its blog today to explain the delay, which applies to not just the Vita version of the game, but all the rest except the already released PS4 version.

"Fitting the expansive worlds of Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty into the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita has proved to be something of a challenge," the developer said.

The main issue has been the limited RAM of the Vita, which means some of the bigger areas have had to be broken down to fit.

On top of that, some of the visual effects, lighting, and animation aren't quite up to scratch yet.

Further, while the game is running at its native resolution on Vita, apparently it comes with "some degree of difficulty".

-
It looks like 2019 is going to be a Golden Age (oh-ho!) for iOS strategy fans as Civilization VI's first major expansion has released on the App Store and we've received confirmation of the second being on the horizon.

Aspyr Media's late-2017 iPad port of Civilization VI was an utterly mindblowing effort. Before they brought the - frankly definitive - 4X series over to handheld we simply hadn't seen a proper realisation of the long-running, PC series on handheld. As a matter of fact, the last time an entry recieved a same-pace, same-depth port as its PC counterpart was the N-Gage port of the original back in 2006.

This week, James finds himself in the rare position of defending a Gameloft game, that game being arcade racer Asphalt 9: Legends.

Meanwhile, Ric has been serving coffee to cats in Furista Cat Cafe, and smashing tetrominoes out of existence in Arkanoid-inspired block-basher Holedown.

The pair also cover Nintendo's $100 million lawsuit against ROM sites, and the latest Nintendo LABO construction set.

Plus, James sits down to chat to the developer of Holedown about how to identify a 'core mechanic', and how to appease the artist within.
Download episode 449:
(right click to save-as, left click to play)
