The value is in the worth, not in the number.

Coinciding with the release of the Pong-like shmup MUL.MASH.TAB.BA.GAL.GAL, developer Riverman Media has also discounted their runner/brawler hybrid The Executive, currently on sale for £0.99 / $0.99 on iPad and iPhone.

In The Executive, your sharply-dressed hero runs and leaps through office buildings and other locations, challenging you to time your leaps over hazards and get into furious brawls with werewolves.

It's "silly arcade fun" and an engrossing classic brawler made to work well on mobile, earning a Gold Award in our review.

You can purchase The Executive on the App Store.

TikTakTime
Just days after the news broke that Tencent and Bluehole will be bringing the hit competitive game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to mobile, 'Glorious Mission' has just dropped on iOS in China.

Developed by Aurora Games and published by Tencent, Glorious Mission (translated) features a huge, 64 square kilometre map with 100 players in the server at a time who have to parachute into play. Sound familiar?

Play solo or as part of a team as you dive into the game. Explore buildings, drive vehicles, watch your surroundings for enemies, and more as you try to claw your way to being the last man standing.

Whether this is just the start of the aforementioned PUBG's mobile journey, I don't know. There have been a fair few clones and lites on the market recently, and we've had more than enough to say about them.

Our own gentle giant, Harry Slater, had his own opinion on the game, as did a bunch of our editorial colleagues at Steel Media.

Either way, for now Glorious Mission is the closest thing there is to PUBG on mobile, so feel free to grab it free to play on the Chinese App Store.

Source: Killercow

Gilbert put his arm about them. "Oh you mothers!" he said. "You mothers! God knew what He was about when He made you."

We're not beating around the bush when we say that Lords of Waterdeep is one of the best board games on mobile. And right now the D&D tabletop adaptation is on sale for a couple of quid less than usual.

If you're not familiar with the game, while it's set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe, it's not a tale of derring do underneath the ground. Instead it's all about subterfuge and city management above it.

Now that might sound a little on the dull side, but bear with us, because it's actually one of the best strategy board games around.
Lords of chaos
At review, for example, we called it "a superb re-creation of a popular and unusual Dungeons & Dragons boardgame, with excellent usability, tough AI opponents and little multimedia tweaks that really add to the experience."

It got a Gold Award as well. Those don't exactly grow on trees, you know. If you want to read the full review, then click here. Trust us, even if you're not into this sort of game, then you're going to find something to love.

And right now you can grab the game for £7.99 / $7.99. It might not sound like a steal, but you're getting so much game for your money it's hard to complain.

If that sounds like it might be right up your alley, then click here to be taken off to the App Store where you can pick up the game and get playing.

From the hex grid of the galaxy to individual planets, Hades' Star promises a complex space strategy game shaped by the actions of players online.

As a single person in this massive galaxy, you can colonize planets, team up or wage war with other players, impact the space-wide economy, and embark on other adventures focused on exploration, diplomacy, and strategy.

Using a simple UI designed for touch, players will be able to build and customize entire fleets, or even establish trade routes with other players. Developer Parallel Space hopes to bring space empire strategy and depth to mobile without the complex interfaces common in PC space sims.

Hades' Star has no release date at the moment, but will be coming to iPad, iPhone, and Android devices. More details on the gameplay and development can be found here.

Nintendo has started to hand out software kits for its upcoming NX platform to developers.

These kits allow developers to begin work on ports of existing games for the NX or to create entirely new ones.

That Nintendo is handing them out suggests that the NX could come out as early as next year.

This news coms from The Wall Street Journal, who also has new reports from people familiar with the NX's development plans.

They have apparently said that the NX will "likely include both a console and at least one mobile unit that could either be used in conjunction with the console or taken on the road for separate use."

This falls in line with what speculators have previously said the NX platform would function as - a crossover between console and mobile device.

Eurogamer points out that a separate mobile unit fits in line with a recent patent Nintendo made for a touchscreen-based controller with shoulder scroll wheels.

The Wall Street Journal's sources also said that the NX will use "industry-leading chips" to bring it up to modern technological standards. Something that the Wii U lacked.

More details on the NX aren't expected from Nintendo until 2016. And do bear in mind that all this is rumour for now.

Automaton is a puzzle game that's designed to teach people the basics of programming. It was designed by Jeremy Friesen who is currently studying Computer Science and worked on the game in his spare time. It's available now on Google Play.

Players will be in charge of getting a little robot called Auto to complete various tasks. This will be done by entering various lines of code - that is given to you - that can make him move forward, turn, or pick up and put down objects. The levels will naturally become more and more complex as you progress.

They start very simple with just moving and turning the robot to get it to a set destination. But before long you'll be required to use loops to complete tasks with a strict limit on how many lines of code you can use. The later levels will also see players having to control two Autos to add an extra layer of complexity to proceedings.

However, if you're deep into coding this game will likely be far too simple for you. It's not on a Zachtronics level of difficulty that's for sure, so don't be expecting the next Shenzen I/O. This is a game that's designed for people who have next to no experience in coding rather than experts.

Though the game is currently available Jeremy insists that he's still working on updating the game with more levels and ironing out any bugs. So it's not quite the finished article yet but there's still plenty of coding brainteasers to be getting on with in the meantime.

I'm always pleased to see games that attempt to educate people through gaming. It makes a nice alternative to the 'learn through doing' concept. If you've ever wanted to understand basic coding or just like puzzle games then Automaton is available now on Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with one in-app purchase that removes ads.
Check out our news section to discover the latest, and greatest, games.
